Now let’s take a look at some of the best things to do in Waterville. Other industries appeared over the years and Waterville became an important economic center for the area. Waterville was officially incorporated in 1802 and was based on multiple industries such as fishing, and agriculture. Initially part of the town of Fort Halifax which was founded in 1757, it became Winslow in 1771.īecause the people living here had to cross the river each time there was a town meeting, they eventually decided to create their own city. Given my recent experience w/poor accommodations in the Lewiston area, I may well do the extra driving again in the future just to stay here again.Waterville is a city of around 16,000 people, located in the Kennebec County of the Maine state. Well run, very clean, easy parking, great location, can't think of any way to improve it. I only met Billy face to face once during my various stays but he was easy to work with when I needed receipts a certain way for reimbursement and my breakfast available by 6am each day. Amazing breakfast always ready in time for me to serve myself (EARLY!) before driving down to Lewiston - made me feel like I mattered. Cozy and comfortable accommodations, quiet, lots of space to work down in the common areas, even room to play a game with my daughter and friends and cook our own food if desired. Well worth the time driving back and forth. I had the least expensive room each time (queen w/shared bath). I stayed here three times while at a conference in Lewiston and my daughter was a study at Colby.
